Civil legal aid is a combination of services and resources that help people to effectively navigate the justice system in civil cases, regardless of how much money they have.
How Does Legal Aid Help?
Civil legal aid provides access to legal help to protect families and livelihoods. Our work helps to streamline the court system and helps to cut down on court costs. We help to make access to information easier, so people know their rights.
Equal Access to Justice
While there is a constitutional right to an attorney in criminal cases, there is no right to counsel in civil cases. Civil Legal Aid helps to fill that gap.
