Justice is for Everyone

Everyone deserves access to justice, no matter their income.  Every day, our team helps individuals and families across our ten-county region resolve life-changing legal problems involving housing, safety, health, and financial security.

Last year, we helped 13,887 people by handling 6,565 legal matters, and reached another 6,219 community members through outreach, clinics, and legal education events. Behind every number is a story: a family that kept their home, a survivor who found safety, a veteran who secured benefits, or a neighbor who gained stability after a crisis.

But the need for legal aid is growing.  Rising costs of living and uncertain federal funding mean more people are turning to us for help at a time when resources are stretched thin.  Your donation makes it possible for us to continue providing free legal services to those who have nowhere else to turn.

When you give to Summit Legal Aid, you’re doing more than donating.  You’re standing up for fairness, dignity, and equal access to justice.

Armstrong County Community Foundation (ACCF) Week of Giving

From May 11 through May 15, Summit Legal Aid will be participating in the 2026 Armstrong Week of Giving, an annual campaign that raises money for nonprofits in our community.

The Armstrong County Community Foundation (ACCF), in partnership with NexTier Bank, sponsors the event.  While ACCF hosts and administers the Week of Giving, it is not a participating nonprofit and does not receive any donations or bonus funds.  Their role is simply to support local organizations like Summit Legal Aid. Every dollar donated to Summit Legal Aid comes directly to us, and eligible donations may also receive additional bonus funding.

We hope you will consider supporting our work during this special week.  Donations are eligible for the Week of Giving and the Bonus Fund if they are at least $20 by check or $25 online and are received between May 11 and 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15.  Donations received outside of this timeframe will not be eligible.

Supporting Legal Aid makes a BIG Difference

Supporting Summit Legal Aid is an investment in our communities as well as the justice system.  By resolving issues early before they escalate into emergencies, legal aid prevents costly consequences for courts, social services, and first responders.

Levels of Support:

  • $50: Supporter of Justice: You stand in solidarity with Summit Legal Aid by providing help to families in crisis.
  • $100: Friend for Equality: You share our belief that justice should not depend on income.
  • $250: Community Ally: You help preserve housing, safety, and income for vulnerable neighbors.
  • $500: Advocate for Hope: Your generosity extends our reach to those most in need.
  • $1,000+: Justice Champion: Your investment helps to build lasting stability, so justice remains accessible in our communities.

Because we receive a grant through the federally funded Legal Services Corporation, we are required by Public Law 103-134 to notify you that Summit Legal Aid cannot use funds from any funding source for activities that are prohibited by the Legal Services Corporation or Public Law 103-134.
For a copy of these laws or further information, please contact us.
