Public assistance, such as medical, food, cash, or utility assistance, is available for many low-income families. These programs are here to help our clients weather difficult times, such as periods of unemployment.
Unemployment Compensation
If you have been laid off, there’s understandably a lot of uncertainty as to your financial future. But it’s possible to get unemployment compensation for up to 26 weeks to help you and your family during this time. Summit Legal Aid may be able to help you.
State & Federal Taxes
If you are contacted by the IRS or the state of Pennsylvania, we may be able to help. We offer free legal advice through our Low Income Taxpayer Clinic and tax lawyers, and can accommodate people with Limited English Proficiency.
