Uniontown, PA – Summit Legal Aid is proud to participate in Fayette Gives hosted by the Community Foundation of Fayette County.  This annual day of giving in Fayette County unites our community around causes we truly believe in and helps nonprofit organizations connect with the larger community.

We need your help!  Please join our campaign and help us reach our goal of $15,000!   We need you to tell your friends and family members about the important work we do and ask them to join us in helping to make a difference by providing legal services to Fayette County clients in need of help.

Get ready to give!  On November 5, 2026, visit www.fayettegives.org and make a donation to us and/or to any of the great participating nonprofit organizations in Fayette County.  All giving will end at 8 PM, so make sure to get your gift in on time!

The need for legal aid is growing in Fayette County.

Last fiscal year, Summit Legal Aid handled 7% more cases in Fayette County than the previous year, with 1,576 cases handled and 4,120 individuals helped.  These are people in our community facing real legal challenges that can have a lasting impact on their lives.

Our recent community needs assessment confirms that these challenges are growing across our region.  Homelessness increased 28% between 2021 and 2024, while nearly 60% of people who did not seek legal help said they didn’t know where to go for assistance.

In Fayette County alone, we have seen a 39 percent increase in housing cases and a staggering 331 percent increase in Consumer Rights and Taxes Cases over the past 3 years.

In response, Summit Legal Aid is working to strengthen our local presence, expand community outreach and partnerships, and build the capacity to serve more people.

As our communities face growing and increasingly complex civil legal needs, your support helps Summit Legal Aid meet those needs and ensure that our neighbors have access to justice when they need it most.
